Import:

Dogs and cats require good health and rabies certificates. Dogs also require distemper certificate. Certificates must be issued by an approved Government veterinarian.

However, it is recommended to obtain an export permit from the Ministry of Agriculture's office at the airport of origin (if it exists). In countries where this office does not exist, the above mentioned certificates are sufficient.

Birds require good health certificate issued by an approved Government veterinarian. There is no restriction on quantity from any country.

As for other pets, it is recommended to obtain an export permit from the country of origin.

Note: a special procedure must be completed when exporting pets from Venezuela. Please contact the Animal Service Office - SASA (Servicio Autonomo de Sanidad Agropecuaria) for further information.

Venezuela is a tropical country on the northern coast of South America. It is a continental mainland with numerous islands located off its coastline in the Caribbean Sea.Venezuela is among the most urbanized countries in Latin America;the vast majority of Venezuelans live in the cities of the north, especially in the capital Caracas which is also the largest city. Other major cities include Maracaibo, Valencia, Maracay, Barquisimeto and Ciudad Guayana.
