Pets
Cats and dogs are subject to special regulations (EC) No. 998/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For more information contact the nearest embassy of Lithuania. Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.Pets must have a bilingual health certificate and proper vaccination documentation.
Pet dogs, cats, and ferrets must be identified with either a clearly readable tattoo or a microchip. The microchip must comply with ISO standard 11784 or 11785 Annex A, or the appropriate microchip reader must be provided along with the pet. Annex A type microchips available in the United States include AKC/TROVAN, HOMEAGAIN and AVID EUROCHIP.
Prohibited: the import of all birds, including pet birds and poultry, arriving from countries infected with Avian influenza.
