Pets

You will need a pet passport to enter Cyprus to avoid Veterinary Control at the airport. Pets from European countries are required to have a microchip and Rabies vaccination administered 1 month before arriving in Cyprus.

24-48 hours before departure you will need to visit your vet to obtain a health certificate for your pet and parasite treatment. When your pet arrives at the Cyprus airport if you hold a European Pet Passport presence of government vet is not required.

If you are entering Cyprus from a non European country your animal will require a serology test to avoid your pet being placed into home quarantine.

Arrival in the UK:

At the present time Cyprus Airways and British Airways are licensed to carry pets into the UK on the Pet Passport Scheme and they all have to enter via Heathrow or Manchester.

Once your pet arrives at the destination airport it will be transferred immediately to the Animal Reception Centre (ARC) and will be available for collection soon after landing.

It is advisable to collect your pet within 2 hours otherwise you may incur an additional charge. Should a friend or relative be collecting the pet for you, they will need a letter of authorization from you and some form of identification i.e. passport.
