Dogs and cats require a veterinarian good health certificate and a rabies inoculation certificate, issued at point of origin. Pets, may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.

PET REGULATIONS - Dogs and cats need a veterinary certificate showing that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies between 15 days and six months previously. All animals need a general health certificate and to be free of parasites and to have had all necessary vaccinations.

Pets (dogs, cats and animals from the marten family) accompanied by the owner traveling through Croatia or staying temporarily shall, prior to entering the country, be marked by a microchip or a clearly visible tattoo number that shall be entered in the international certificate issued according to the applicable laws of the Republic of Croatia.

The first rabies vaccination given within 3 months shall be given not less than 6 months and not more than one year before. Subsequent (booster) vaccinations shall be given not later than one year before traveling.

Import and temporary residence on the territory of Croatia is forbidden for the dangerous terrier breed such as bull type not entered in the FCI register of the International Kennel Federation for pit bull terriers and their hybrids.

General Information

Croatia is a country in Southeastern Europe, at the crossroads of the Pannonian Plain, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean Sea. Its capital (and largest city) is Zagreb. Croatia borders Slovenia and Hungary to the north, Serbia to the northeast, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast, and it has a sea border with Italy to the southwest

Croatia is located between South-Central Europe and Middle Europe. Its shape resembles that of a crescent or a horseshoe, which flanks its neighbours Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. To the north lie Slovenia and Hungary; Italy lies across the Adriatic Sea. Its mainland territory is split in two non-contiguous parts by the short coastline of Bosnia and Herzegovina around Neum.
